First choose your column and draw it.
Lightly sketch your design. I chose a snake coiling up a rose bush. Cut up squares of coloured paper and glue them down. Cut out the column and glue it onto a background of Roman ruins.
You could also use the same column design and decorate them as you wish but use them to create a ruined temple on a bulletin board.
